Who I Am

I spent the better part of 16 years as a firefighter and paramedic, a profession that I believe has prepared me to stay calm and focused during high-stress events, including pressing assignments and tight deadlines.

In early 2012 I created a small content website called GearMoose, which by 2017 grew to a point where I could focus on it full time. Along the way and out of necessity, I learned graphic design, SEO, front-end web development, sharpened my writing skills, and grew a team of 14 remote writers, graphic designers, research assistants, and a managing editor.

Beyond Work

Beyond content creation, I am passionate about web development, currently learning at my own pace through The Odin Project. I'm an '80s horror film buff, obsessed with Seinfeld, and can quote Family Guy for pretty much any situation in life. I'm an aspiring professional foosball player, a certified watch nerd, and have seen the Goo Goo Dolls in concert at least 30 times since 1999.

I once won a ping pong tournament at my local community college, and believe that it's never too late to learn another skill in life.
